Department Specialist

As the Department Specialist, you drive profitable sales growth by planning and executing company merchandising direction in your assigned department to drive sales and deliver standard operating procedure execution (i.e. markdowns, signage, replenishment, marketing). As the subject matter expert for all brand merchandising training, product standard operating procedures, tools and resources, you are also responsible for ensuring Brand Associates are trained and meet merchandising standards and productivity expectations. Your department consistently represents brand standards and company strategies. You are responsible for flexing to drive profitability based on our brand’s merchandising principles and financial analysis.

As an Old Navy leader, your first priority is to contribute to the success of your store. This means that you not only deliver in your role as the Department Specialist, but you also model leadership behaviors and deliver as a manager on duty. As the Manager on Duty, you deliver results during your assigned time, drive key performance indicators and brand loyalty by leading through your team. You make decisions and collaborate with other members of your store leadership team to prioritize work based on business needs and company direction.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3  years of soft lines and visual merchandising  experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and employees
  • Ability to maneuver around sales floor, stock room, work with and around cleaning chemicals, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (including travel) to meet the needs of the business, including evenings, overnight and weekend shifts

Loss Prevention Representative

The Loss Prevention Representative’s main responsibility is the safety of all store associates and customers, assisting store personnel with any safety issues.  LPSR provides a visual presence at the entrance of store through courteous and professional interaction with customers.  LPSR works closely with LPS and Leadership team to increase awareness and ensure all aspects of LP Awareness Program are being followed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • The safety of all store associates and customers is top priority.
  • Promote Loss Prevention Awareness/REAL Prevention to sales staff.  Encourage use of the COBC Hotline.
  • Assist store management in ensuring physical security of location.
  • Prevention of losses through teamwork and communication with the staff.
  • Abide by all company policies as well as any other standards communicated by management.
  • Provide a visual presence at the entrance/exit through courteous and professional interaction with customers.
  • Assists in making apprehensions with certified LP Agents when asked for assistance
Organizational Relationships:
This position reports to LP Supervisor.  Working relationships with; Store Leadership Team, Sales Staff, LPS, DLPM/RLPM.
Required knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to communicate with all levels of staff and management.
  • Ability to evaluate circumstances and make timely decisions.
Minimum Educational Level:
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience required:
  • 1-2 year’s retail experience preferred.  State Certification preferred where applicable.
Physical requirements:
  • Must be able to stand and walk sales floor for scheduled shift.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds.

General Manager

As the General Manager, you lead through your team to drive profitable sales in your store. You lead and provide direction to your entire store team. You are the link between Old Navy’s brand vision and how it comes to life in your store. You ensure your store achieves all key metrics and is meeting or exceeding profitability goals. As the head merchant, you lead, follow up, coach and train on business analysis and merchandising decisions. You proactively create the store business plan to drive profitable sales through forecasting and scheduling. You hold your team accountable to deliver results through the Sales and Service Leader program. By leading the overall skill building and development of your store team in line with company initiatives, you create a positive talent development culture. As the General Manager, you personally coach and develop your direct leadership team and other key talent in your store. You create an inclusive culture of learning application and high performance through talent acquisition, and developing, coaching and holding your team accountable. You are the primary change leader, subject matter expert and communicator for your store team about all brand, market and territory initiatives.
